Fabrics & Care

Bamboo
Bamboo fabric is considered a sustainable material due to its rapid growth rates and self- replenishing nature. Bamboo consumes more C02 than other trees which can have a positive impact on the environment, and they require less water and chemicals during cultivation.
One of the biggest benefits of bamboo fabric is how soft and comfortable it is against the skin as well as regulating temperature. We mostly use it for our underwear, nightwear and loungewear as it has natural antibacterial properties and excellent breathability, it is also more durable and has better wrinkle resistance making it a perfect choice for sleepwear.
Like many natural fabrics, bamboo does have a tendency to shrink. It’s comparable to organic cotton in terms of shrinkage rate. However, proper care can significantly reduce the risk of shrinkage.
It’s recommended to wash bamboo fabric in cold water utilizing mild detergents and avoiding bleach are recommended and avoid high-temperature settings while drying or even better, allowing it to air dry. Following these care instructions will help maintain the integrity and longevity of the fabric, preserving its natural characteristics and comfort.
Noteworthy properties for Bamboo:

• Hypoallergenic
• Breathable and temperature regulating
• Moisture-wicking capabilities,
• Softness and smoothness.
• Lightweight
• Natural antibacterial properties
• Environmentally friendly and gentle on the skin
Benefits of using Organic Cotton:

• Hypoallergenic
• Breathable and temperature regulating
• Moisture-wicking capabilities
• Softness and smoothness

• Durable and long lasting
• Environmentally friendly and gentle on the skin
Organic Cotton
Organic cotton is also one of the most sustainable fabrics, it is grown in a way that uses methods and materials that lessen the impact on our environment, it doesn’t produce any harmful chemicals, and the production also benefits the soil rather than damaging it.
Organic Cotton is so versatile whether it is used for Spring/Summer collections in a lighter form for those warmer days or a heavier Autumn/Winter weight in flannels and cosy jerseys. Cotton always seems to be a long-standing favourite amongst our customers for both comfort and quality.
Like many natural fabrics, Cotton does tend to shrink, but as a rule of thumb we pre-shrink our cotton to have minimal shrinkage for our customer. We recommend washing Organic Cotton in cold water utilizing mild, eco-friendly detergents and avoiding harsh chemicals or bleach to prevent it from fading.
Avoid fabric softeners as it can coat the fibres, reducing breathability and moisture-wicking properties. Whenever possible, air dry your nightwear and underwear by hanging it or laying it flat to preserve the fabric's integrity and avoid shrinking. If using a dryer, choose a low heat setting. Remove the garments while they are still slightly damp to prevent over-drying.

Turn the vest inside out before washing to minimize friction and fading. Use a mild, eco-friendly detergent without bleach or harsh chemicals to protect the fabric. You can put it on a gentle cycle using cold or lukewarm water (30°C/86°F) to prevent damage. Ideally, lay the vest flat to air dry away from direct sunlight. If using a dryer, select a low heat setting and remove it while still slightly damp to prevent over-drying. This helps preserve its shape and colour.
Overall, Viloft combines comfort, sustainability, and durability, making it an excellent choice!

Noteworthy properties of Combed Cotton:

• Hypoallergenic
• Breathable and temperature regulating
• Moisture-wicking capabilities
• Softness and smoothness

• Resistant to pilling
• Gentle on the skin
Combed Cotton
Combed cotton is a softer and superior quality alternative to regular cotton. It undergoes a specialized manufacturing process after harvesting, during which, impurities and shorter fibres are removed. This results in longer, stronger fibres being spun into a fine yarn.
As a result, combed cotton is smoother and significantly less prone to pilling than standard cotton making it an exceptional choice for night wear and underwear.
We recommend washing Combed Cotton in cold water utilizing mild, eco-friendly detergents and avoiding harsh chemicals or bleach. Avoid fabric softeners as it can coat the fibres, reducing breathability and moisture-wicking properties.

Cotton Sateen
With all the advantages of cotton, cotton sateen is woven with a satin weave, resulting in a smooth, lustrous finish. This unique weaving technique gives cotton sateen a softer, more luxurious feel than traditional cotton.
We use digital printing on cotton sateen fabrics, a process that involves printing, steaming, washing, and finishing the material. Our use of eco-friendly inks enhances the vibrancy of the designs while ensuring they remain durable through repeated washings. This approach not only promotes sustainability but also results in longer-lasting, vivid colours.

Recycled Polyester
Recycled polyester matches virgin polyester in quality, yet its production consumes 59% less energy. Manufacturers of recycled polyester strive to decrease CO2 emissions by 32% compared to conventional polyester. Additionally, using recycled polyester helps minimize the extraction of crude oil and natural gas needed for producing new plastic, making it a more sustainable choice.
We typically utilize a cotton-polyester blend to ensure our garments feel luxuriously soft against the skin. This combination enhances the fabric's durability and wrinkle resistance, making it an ideal choice for sleepwear.
Polyester is remarkably durable and resilient, allowing it to withstand repeated wear, washing, pressing, and storage with minimal impact. This makes it a practical choice for everyday use.
It can typically be washed at medium temperatures (30-40°C). For optimal care, hang it to dry away from heat; if you prefer using a dryer, select a low heat setting.
